AND NO WIFI!!!

Went here in June of 2017 with a group of 16 guys. Great well maintained golf courses, with awesome staff. Most of the guys stayed in the the double villas which were nice. A little outdated, but the reviews make them sound much worse than they are. They upgraded four of us to a condo, which was really nice, big living room with double queens on each side and was located right on one of the courses. You can imagine that a group of 16 is would be hard to keep on schedule, but the starters were patient with us and really good guys. Absolutely no issues with any rangers, (we had a big group that likes to have a few cocktails), and we were never pushed or pressured. Golf courses are really nice, and my expectations are high. Good tracks, well maintained with good layouts. Courses have some room off the tee, and are playable with still being challenging. Their signature course (Fountains) is nice and has a pretty sweet bridge you drive over, but I enjoyed Swampfire the most. Food was awesome, they had a special every night we were there (crab legs and prime rib one night, and build your own pasta the other), and you could eat inside or outside at the bar. We spent a lot of time at the bar, good people and friendly staff. They had a band a couple nights was not the best band to say it lightly, lol, but we had some good laughs because of it. All in all it was a great trip, we will add it to the rotation and definitely be back in a year or two. If your thinking of booking your guys trip to Garland, it is worth every penny (easily the cheapest of our rotation) and you will not be disappointed!!

(They say they have it, but it was turned off all 3 days I was there.)

So if you need to stay in contact with folks outside of the Lodge:

UNLESS YOU USE ATT OR VERISON YOU WILL LOSE 100% OF YOUR PHONE SERVICE FOR THE ENTIRE TIME YOU ARE THERE. EVEN THE LANDLINES DON'T WORK.

Plus, there pool and hot tub are broken.

Garland Lodge is located in a beautiful setting, with many summer and winter activities. Visitor come primarily for some challenging golf on three well-maintained golf courses. Some rooms are better than others -- a number need of renovation -- but the employees are all top-notch: helpful, pleasant and professional. Garland's food and drink will satisfy. The lodge is especially attractive if you like being in the middle of nowhere -- it's very isolated. However, that's part of its charm.

One of my favorite get aways in Michigan. Great golfing. Beautiful sight, and wildlife (including an eagle's nest). New owners have fixed the issues with the staff.

Food Is INCREDIBLE!! Black and Bleu steak Pasta... Magnifique!!

It won't happen.

Beautiful golf courses! Amazing log cabin structures and cottages. Staff is okay but not invested. Loved my time there except:
